Business can no longer ignore the impact of Social Media on their business
There was a time when many small business owners believed that they could ignore the social media revolution that was taking place and the impact it would have on their business.
Their belief was that the Internet search engine of choice would remain with Google and others and that people using social media were simply chatting and sharing interest amongst their friends and family, but sadly this is not proving to be the case.
As we now all recognise after approximately 10 years plus of social media platforms having been in existence, that peoples daily activities on social media envolved in to not only communicating social activities with their network but also using their friends circle and relatives to research, review and select potential suppliers for many of the services and products that they are looking for.
We now see people requesting support and recommendations from their network of friends and relatives for every day services like sourcing a local plumber, builder and even more complex legal services, which demonstrates their belief and trust in their own local network of friends and relatives as a reference point for sourcing organisations and suppliers to meet their consumer demands.
So the social media landscape in 2019 is a completely different animal to the simplicity that the social platforms were originally designed to meet. These platforms were originally designed to simply connect communities of people in conversational engagement. Who would’ve thought that these platforms would gain such traction in user audience numbers, and that all the leading brands would invest huge sums of advertising revenue to tap in to this eager, information sharing community.
So how can small-business really get to grips with grasping the potential that is on offer for organisations and suppliers of products and services to meet the thriving community of buyers and users on these powerful social media platforms.
It’s really quite simple! Make social media marketing a part of your marketing budget.
